Strengthening Healthcare Access for Utah’s Workforce
For uninsured residents of Summit and Wasatch Counties, People’s Health Clinic provides access to healthcare that might otherwise be out of reach.
During our recent visit, one message from the clinic stood out: “Care comes first. Money follows.”
That idea can be seen throughout the work they do. Founded in 1999, People’s Health Clinic has grown from a mobile medical van into an important part of Utah’s healthcare safety net, providing comprehensive medical care at no cost to uninsured patients.
Serving Thousands of Utahns
Today, People’s Health Clinic handles more than 21,000 patient encounters each year, with approximately 16,000 patient visits annually. The clinic operates with nine full-time staff members, 40 volunteer physicians, eight exam rooms, and an on-site laboratory.
With nearly 97% of its patients living below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, making every resource go as far as possible is extremely important.
That is where Globus Relief can help.
Through nonprofitmedicalsupply.org, Globus Relief connects donated medical supplies with nonprofit clinics that can put them to use. During our visit, the clinic identified several current needs, including orthopedic devices, sutures, gauze, and catheters.
Supporting Utah’s Healthcare Safety Net
By reducing the amount clinics have to spend on medical supplies, more of their limited resources can remain focused on providing care.
Globus Relief is working to strengthen Utah’s healthcare safety net by keeping valuable medical resources in our communities and connecting them with organizations like People’s Health Clinic.
We are excited to continue building this partnership and supporting the work People’s Health Clinic is doing to make healthcare more accessible in Summit and Wasatch Counties.
